The Book Club has arrived at the Aberdeen University's campus!

There is some good news for all those Aberdeen students who enjoy a good book, an open-minded discussion and making new friends: there is a new society that embodies it all!
We are in a large extent  like any other traditional book club: we meet on a regular basis to discuss previously chosen books while drinking tea/coffee and munching biscuits. Members are also welcome to volunteer some food along if they want ,so that way we can enjoy some good books and some good food in the company of good friends. At the same time we are also a university society which - we believe - gives us a certain advantage over a traditional book club. The Aberdeen University has a large international community of students drawn from 120 different countries. This means that our society's members come from different backgrounds which is amazing in terms of a book discussion as we get to listen to well-diversified opinions, points of view, judgements and conclusions. Unlike a traditional book club, we will be also running events other then book discussions including movie screenings, game nights and nights out. Depending on available funding, we are also thinking about a trip that follows literary footsteps like e.g trip to Barcelona as to 'shadow' the action of Zafon's 'Shadow of the Wind'. All in all, we are hoping for an exciting and eventful year of book reading, friend making and fun having! So join us today and read away :P
If you want to know more, read our FAQ available in the FAQ section or drop us an e-mail (bookclub@abdn.ac.uk). You can also catch us at the Aberdeen University's annual Societies Fayre on Wednesday, 21st September between 11am-3pm.
